50 organizations join New Demand Response Round-table

A global pool of the latest cutting edge developments, knowledge and experience of Demand Response.

VaasaETT has now launched its long planned Global Energy Think-Tank Demand Response Round-table (GETT DR Roundtable). The members included represent the most forward thinking markets around the globe, the EU 15, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and India.

Raisons d’être: Most utilities and researchers lack access to the cutting edge studies and results taking place elsewhere, be it in their own market or around the world. This leads to a splintering and weakening of knowledge. It makes it difficult to know if individual results can be generalized or are an exception to the rule. It often leads to research that re-invents the wheel, or implementations that fail to adopt best practice. A better method for disseminating the community’s knowledge is needed.

In order to rectify this situation VaasaETT Global Energy Think Tank has started the GETT DR Roundtable. By making use of the Global Energy Think Tank’s network of excellent contacts and partners, the GETT DR Roundtable aims to create a truly global pool of Demand Response knowledge, including peak clipping measures and methods to reduce overall energy consumption.

All research is reviewed, summated and categorised and the results are made available to those within in the group. The categories mean that the information is easy to find and the members are not overwhelmed with data. Complete reports are also be made available to members who wish to analyse the data further for their own use and study.

Participation is free to all those who contribute research or belong to a university. Ongoing, as well as completed research is collected from contributors. Those who wish to participate in the GETT DR Roundtable but do not have research or planned studies to contribute are required to pay a fee of 3 000 Euros for access.

In order to foster further sharing of data and knowledge as well as strengthen the Demand Response Community, Round-table Meetings will be held twice a year; Webinars spreading and relaying the most interesting results will also be made available to the group.
