The VaasaETT Gobal Energy Think-Tank

Bringing Best Practice Together

The VaasaETT Global Energy Think-Tank shares, develops and envisions best practice for the global utilities industry through a network of thousands of senior executives, officials, researchers and other experts who are for the most part known and trusted personally. We follow a unique 3×5 concept based five principles and five services in five inter-dependent focus areas:

Five Principles

  1. Knowledge through collaboration (No-one has all the knowledge. Through discussion and knowledge sharing we all become stronger and can find solutions together)
  2. Value-for-all
  3. Independence of opinion
  4. Environmental consideration
  5. Fresh thinking

Five Services

  1. Networking (including round-table and association formation & management, events, small conferences, knowledge sharing and partner search & facilitation)
  2. Collaborative projects
  3. Research
  4. Consulting
  5. Strategic Innovation

Five Focus Areas

  1. Marketing and Competition
  2. Customer Psychology, behaviour, loyalty, value and profitability
  3. Market Structures and Drivers,
  4. Smart Grid, Smart Home and Demand Response
  5. Innovation

What Makes us Unique?

  1. Unlike most event organizers, we both understand the content and know the participants.
  2. Unlike most consultants, we strive to be truly independent and base our conclusions on science.
  3. Unlike most networking organizations we actively strive to create content rather than just facilitate it.
  4. Unlike many organizations we do not aim to simply regurgitate the past, but rather take the best experiences and practices and turn them into
  5. Above all we do not claim to have all the answers but rather find it within our network, a truly expert global network based on trust, long-term relationships (our network has been built over nearly 14 years) and mutuality.

Where do we Earn Our Money?

Membership of our network and much of the information contained within it is free. This is only possible because of our commercial activities. We earn our money in several ways including: event attendance fees (though our events are always low cost for attendees); private and funded collaboration projects that we organize, manage or take part in; subscription and advertising fees; and introduction fees.

Data Protection and Intellectual Property

The VaasaETT Global Energy Think-Tank typically makes non-disclosure agreements with all partners and clients wherever confidentiality is a concern. In any case we have built our reputation on trust and we never share information which is derived in a confidential manner.
