Duncan Sedgwick was from 2003 to 2008 the naugural Chief Executive of the Energy Retail Association within the UK having worked with the energy sector for the last 35 years as it has moved from state ownership through privatisation and in to the fully competitive market. During his 5 years with the ERA he achieved significant improvements in sector profile as well as delivering major operational performance improvements in the areas of selling, customer transfer, billing and general service issues. During this time he became the key spokesman for the sector in a time of unprecedented political, media and consumer interest.
He has worked for a number of energy companies within the UK including E.On/Powergen where he was the Director of Business Transformation and Retail Director Residential Markets. He is now operating a more portfolio career concentrating on advising organisations in areas such as public affairs, media, smart metering, payment technologies, fuel poverty, business transformation and performance delivery. In addition he is Chairman of an AIM listed clean technology company.
