Energy customer behaviour analyst

Profile:  Master level in psychology or other behaviour related subject and ideally a minimum of 2 years' experience from working in the energy sector

VaasaETT, a Finland-based globally-focussed consulting business in the energy sector is looking to hire a behavioural scientist with expertise in consumer behaviour for its Helsinki or Thessaloniki office.  

VaasaETT is recognised internationally as a leader in the analysis of customer-centric issues in competitive energy markets globally. VaasaETT's experts have for instance analysed customer churn and loyalty behaviour in more markets for longer than any other consulting business. VaasaETT's work in the field of behavioural energy efficiency and customer engagement is recognised across the industry, and our data base of consumer-focused pilots is arguably the largest in the world.

VaasaETT now wishes to move its consumer and modelling capabilities to the next level and as part of this would like to recruit a person who will be able to integrate expertise from the field of sociology, psychology and other behaviour related disciplines into VaasaETT's research projects and broader offerings.

You will take part in research and analysis including the modelling of behaviour patterns around energy usage including explaining behavioural patterns around customer churn, loyalty, satisfaction and customer engagement. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting primary research and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative findings into informative and easy-to-understand deliverables related to market intelligence, new services, behaviour models and approaches in the energy sector. This is a position for a smart, enthusiastic person who wants to learn quickly, conduct leading edge research and provide practical support for major international clients and large EU research projects.  

The position will consist of: 

Synthesizing quantitative and qualitative findings related to customer behaviour into both complex models and informative and easy-to-understand written and visual deliverables. Structuring and developing individual and group behavioural models, energy analysis and primary research to uncover insights that drive our knowledge in the field of people changing their energy usage. Produce high quality reports and other material for external and internal use. Orally communicate findings to a wide variety of internal and external audiences. Support the implementation of VaasaETT's strategy to develop research and commercial offerings around customer behaviour, customer communication, policy creation, best-practice and future scenarios in the energy industry.

About You: 

  • Preferably, you have a Master's degree in psychology or another behaviour related-subject
  • Preferably, you have worked a minimum of 2 years in areas related to energy Preferably, you have experience in EU-funded R&D projects
  • You easily decipher the big picture and can communicate and describe it in simple models
  • You are comfortable with dealing with numbers and technical descriptions  
  • You work quickly and error-free under tight deadlines
  • You have strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • You are an achiever and consistently exceed individual and team goals
  • You are a good team player but also able to work alone and think for yourself
  • You are curious, resourceful and show good initiative You have excellent written and spoken English
  • Professional knowledge of other languages may also be an advantage Modelling experience is an advantage
